Burner Management
Systems (BMS)

PLC-based automated safety and control systems for oilfield heaters, reboilers, and fired equipment. Safe startup, continuous flame monitoring, and emergency shutdown built in.

Burner Management Systems (BMS)

JessCo Solutions offers PLC-based Burner Management Systems (BMS) engineered for oil and gas production heaters, process vessels, and all fired equipment. Each system automates safe startup, continuous flame monitoring, and emergency shutdown, protecting personnel, equipment, and regulatory standing on every site.

Core Features

  • Automated startup sequence with pre-purge and proven pilot ignition
  • Continuous flame monitoring via UV scanner or thermocouple
  • Master Fuel Trip (MFT) on loss of flame, low fuel gas pressure, high temperature, or high pressure
  • PLC-based control with local HMI display and alarm annunciation
  • Modulating temperature control for optimized air-to-fuel ratio and combustion efficiency
  • Remote SCADA connectivity for off-site monitoring and diagnostics
  • Electronic ignition eliminates manual lighting hazards for operator safety
  • Safety shutdown logic compliant with NFPA 86 and API RP 556
  • Class 1, Div. 1 or Div. 2 rated components for classified area installation
  • Compatible with all major heater treater, reboiler, and process heater makes and models

BMS Applications & Benefits

JessCo BMS packages are sized and configured for the full range of fired equipment found on oil and gas production sites. Whether retrofitting an existing unit or specifying a system for new equipment, our team can match the right BMS to your application.

  • Oilfield heater treaters
  • TEG glycol reboilers
  • Line heaters and pipeline heaters
  • Process vessels and production heaters
  • Fired pressure vessels
  • Enclosed vapor combustors (VCU)

Safety

Electronic ignition and automated flame monitoring keep operators away from hazardous manual lighting. If flame loss or an unsafe condition is detected, the system performs an immediate Master Fuel Trip, cutting fuel before a dangerous condition can develop.

Emissions Reduction

By automatically relighting on setpoint demand rather than venting continuously, a BMS significantly reduces fugitive methane and VOC emissions compared to conventional thermostat-only controls.

Operational Efficiency

Precise air-to-fuel ratio control and modulating temperature output keep fired equipment running at peak efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and preventing over-firing that degrades firetube and vessel life.
